Louis Armstrong – La Vie En Rose
Client: Verve Records
Role: Direction + Animation

To celebrate Louis Armstrong’s birthday, Yes Please Productions directed and produced the first-ever official music video for his romantic classic La Vie En Rose.

Set in mid-century Paris, the animation takes viewers on a journey through the city’s streets – past cafés, shops, and rooftops – all in search of love. Designed with vintage inspired illustration and gentle movement, the visual pays tribute to both the song’s era and Armstrong’s deep connection to the city.

Armstrong lived in Paris from 1932 to 1934, staying at the Hôtel Alba Opéra in the 9th arrondissement, a detail that helped shape the tone and setting of the piece. His time in ‘The City of Love’ is part of the story we wanted to tell, visually and emotionally.

This was about capturing timeless romance in motion, while honouring the legacy of one of jazz’s most iconic voices.
