Public Service Broadcasting – Sputnik
Client: Test Card Recordings / Public Service Broadcasting
Role: Direction · Editing · Production · Motion Design · Compositing

To mark the anniversary of the Lovell Telescope receiving the first signals from the Sputnik rocket in 1957, Yes Please Productions directed this video for Sputnik by Public Service Broadcasting.

Filmed in front of the iconic Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank, the visuals blend archive footage with custom designed, beat-reactive animations. These animations were digitally composited to appear as if projected onto the surface of the telescope—transforming it into a vast, moving canvas in sync with the track’s rhythm and intensity.

The result is a quietly powerful, atmospheric piece that connects past and present, celebrating a landmark moment in space exploration through sound and image.
