THE ROLLING STONES - STREET FIGHTING MAN
Project information
Client: ABKCO
Role: Creative Direction, Motion Design
To mark the 50th anniversary reissue of Beggars Banquet (1968) by The Rolling Stones, Yes Please were commissioned to develop a series of lyric videos – one for each track on the album.
For Street Fighting Man, we leaned into the track’s charged political tone, building a visual narrative around unrest and protest. We sourced archive footage from late-1960s demonstrations, using it to ground the piece in the era that shaped the song’s message.
The visual treatment draws from a rare Danish sleeve of the single, featuring a policeman and protester rendered in bright pink and yellow. This bold, graphic colour palette informed the look and feel – contrasting archive footage with bold colour to create something that feels both authentic and contemporary.
The result is a dynamic lyric video that captures the spirit of the original release while recontextualising it for a modern audience.
